UCF Starts Strong at FAU Spring Championship

BOCA RATON, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team is starting the FAU Spring Championship off strong after recording a 286(-2) Friday afternoon. The Knights will enter round two on Saturday tied for second place, just four strokes off the leader, Bethune-Cookman.

Bobby Bai paced the Knights and ended the day in first overall shooting a 67(-5) with eight birdies on the day. The junior shot two-under on the front nine and improved as the day went on shooting three-under on the back. Bai led the field on par-fours averaging 3.60(-4).

Kyler Tate wrapped up his first 18 with a 70(-2) and four birdies as he rounds out the day tied for sixth place overall.  

Tommy Cao ended round one with a 74(+2) and Clement Charmasson finished with a 75(+3).

Pedro Lencart Silva concluded the first day of the tournament with a 77(+5), while Colin Kresl, competing individually, finished with a 75(+3) and tied for 42nd place overall.

As a unit, UCF compiled 21 birdies, the most of any team, and made par on 47 holes. The Knights exceeded in par-four holes on the day shooting six-under. UCF was the best team in the field on par-fours.
