#21 UCF Travels to FIU for Sunday Contest

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 21 UCF women’s tennis team heads south to Miami to take on the FIU Panthers on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Knights will hit the road after sweeping their 11-match homestand and winning 15 consecutive matches. FIU has a streak of their own going right now as they have won nine straight matches. They are 10-4 on the year including an 8-1 record at home.

FIU doesn’t have a singles player ranked to this point, but they do have the No. 64 ranked duo in the nation. The Panther’s top doubles team consists of Komola Umarova and Basak Akbas.

Three Knights have singles winning streaks of 11 matches. Rebeka Stolmar, Natalia Serrano, and Nandini Sharma look to lead the Knights to their sixteenth consecutive victory and extend their individual match streaks as well.

A win on Sunday would tie UCF’s second longest winning streak ever at 16 matches. This record was set 22 years ago in the 1997 season. The longest winning streak in program history sits at 19 matches which was set during the 1998 season and part of the 1999 season.
