Knights Head to Florida Relays

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Following a pair of strong showings at home, the UCF track and field team continues its outdoor campaign with a trip to Gainesville for the Pepsi Florida Relays.

One of the nation’s premier collegiate and high school track meets, the Pepsi Florida Relays take place at Percy Beard Track, located inside James G. Pressly Stadium.

The Knights join a strong field this weekend, as nine nationally ranked women’s teams will be competing in Gainesville. In addition to the No. 10 Gators, No. 6 Florida State, No. 7 Kentucky, No. 8 Miami, No. 12 Alabama, No. 15 Georgia, No. 16 Tennessee, No. 18 Virginia Tech and No. 25 Georgia Tech are all slated to compete.

Friday and Saturday action will be streamed live on the SEC Network+ on Watch ESPN.

UCF opened its outdoor season hosting the Black and Gold Challenge with four event titles and followed with seven event titles at the UCF Knights Invite last weekend.

On Tuesday, Devin D’Oliveira was named the American Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week. D'Oliveira, running her first outdoor campaign as a Knight, won the 400-meter hurdles at the Black and Gold Challenge. Shaving a second off her time en route to a second 400 hurdles title, the redshirt freshman broke UCF’s 10-year-old freshman record set by Jackie Coward in 2009.
