ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF Varsity Eight was named the first American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week for the 2019 campaign.
The Knights’ Varsity Eight, consisting of Nicole Mayer, Grace Lindberg, Julie Poulsen, Leslie Lajoie, Aly Derksen, Edvina Nesukaityte, Luci Derrick, Abbie Pritchard and Shannon Perry, closed out UCF’s home regatta with the fifth Black and Gold victory of the day. The boat cruised to a win in 6:39.6.
The Knights finished nearly 10 seconds ahead of the defending Division II national champion Central Oklahoma and more than 10 seconds ahead of fellow American Athletic Conference member UConn.
UCF returns to action April 5-6, heading to Sarasota for the Sunshine State Invite.
