ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – UCF sophomore Devin D’Oliveira was named the American Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week following another dominant showing at the UCF Knights Invite over the weekend.
D’Oliveira made her collegiate 400-meter hurdle debut in the outdoor opener on March 16, winning the event in 1:00.10. In her second time competing in the event, she shaved nearly a second off of her mark to capture the event title in back-to-back weekends. Her 59.11 time is the fastest among American Athletic Conference competitors and ranks ninth nationally in the event.
She was also the first leg of UCF’s winning 4x400 meter relay squad that edged UConn at the UCF Knights Invite over the weekend.
Tuesday’s recognition marks the first career accolade for D’Oliveira. She is the first Knight since Anne-Marie Blaney to earn the distinction.
D’Oliveira and the Knights return to action next weekend at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville.
