COLUMBIA, S.C. (UCFKnights.com) –The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Thursday the 2018-19 NABC Division I All-District teams, and UCF’s BJ Taylor was among the student-athletes honored.
Taylor was named First Team All-District 25, the first Knight to earn All-District honors since 2012-13, when both Keith Clanton and Isaiah Sykes received the accolades.
Leading the Knights with 16.0 points per game, Taylor helped UCF win a program-record 23 games as a senior. He has also totaled 101 assists, 25 steals and a career-high 57 three-pointers, while shooting 36.8 percent from beyond the arc and 77.4 percent from the free throw line in 2018-19.
Taylor, who also earned First Team All-Conference honors from The American earlier this season, ranks 18th in the nation with 175 free throws made, which set a new UCF record for free throws in a single-season.
With the postseason now upon the Knights, Taylor and UCF get set for the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005. UCF takes on VCU in the First Round Friday night at 9:40 p.m. on CBS.
