ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team heads west to the annual Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev., beginning Sunday, March 3-5. The Knights will play 54 holes at Southern Highlands Golf Club, a par 72, 7374-yard course just south of downtown Las Vegas.
The event will be live streamed for the final two rounds on Monday and Tuesday and the entire event will have live stats available.
The Knights will be one of 15 teams competing in a highly competitive field. A win for the Knights would propel UCF upward in the rankings.
UCF will compete with seven top-25 teams including No. 3 USC, No. 4 Georgia Tech, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 10 Texas, No. 11 Cal, No. 13 Pepperdine, and No. 17 Auburn. The rest of the field is ranked in the top-50 with No. 28 Texas Tech, No. 29 Illinois, No. 33 Florida, No. 36 UNLV, the host, No. 37 UCLA, No. 38 Stanford, and No. 49 TCU.
The top individual of the tournament at the end of the final round will be awarded an exemption to the 2019 Shriners Hospital for Children Open PGA TOUR event October 3-6 at TPC Summeriln in Las Vegas.
UCF enters the tournament with a 42-31-1 overall record with five tournaments remaining in their spring schedule.
Qualifying/Lineup Information
- Kyler Tate qualified for the 1st spot in the lineup for the 2019 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of winning the seven round qualifier with a score of +3.
- Clement Charmasson qualified for the 2nd spot in the lineup for the 2019 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of finishing 2nd in the seven round qualifier with a score of +12.
- Tommy Cao qualified for the 2019 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of finishing 3rd in the seven round qualifier with a score of +14.
- Bobby Bai qualified for the 2019 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of finishing 4th in the seven round qualifier with a score of +16.
- Jalen Ledger will play in the fifth spot as a coaches’ selection for the 2019 Southern Highlands Collegiate by virtue of a 5th place finish in the seven round qualifier with a score of +25.
