#18 UCF Looks to Win Their 8th in a Row

ORLANDO, Fla (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 18 UCF women’s tennis team will face the Yale Bulldogs on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Knights look to string together their eighth win in a row.

Thanks to their 9-2 start and seven-match winning streak, the Knights propelled themselves to their highest ranking as a team in program history. They will look to climb even higher with a win over Yale.

Yale sits at a 5-4 record but has one more match on Saturday against FIU before coming to visit the Knights at the UCF Collegiate Tennis Center at the USTA National Campus. Yale shares a common opponent with the Knights as both teams faced the Crimson Tide in Alabama. Yale dropped a 4-2 decision to Alabama while UCF won 6-1.

Leading the way for the Knights this weekend was Ksenia Kuznetsova, Natalia Serrano, Rebeka Stolmar and Nandini Sharma. All three were a perfect 3-0 on the weekend. Kuznetsova was awarded AAC Player of the Week for her remarkable efforts at the number two spot in the lineup. She also defeated the No. 33 ranked player in the nation in her match against No. 48 Florida. Stolmar also took down a ranked opponent this weekend, defeating No. 40 Denver’s Arisha Ladhani, who is ranked No. 114. Sharma collected the final point for UCF in their 4-3 win over No. 48 Florida.
