ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s tennis team received new rankings in Tuesday’s release of the Oracle/ITA rankings.
As a team, the Knights check in at No. 42. Since the last release of the rankings, UCF has split their two matches. The Knights were edged by No. 32 Texas Tech before beating South Alabama.
UCF saw their first doubles pair of the season ranked, as Bogdan Pavel and Trey Hilderbrand see themselves at the No. 54 position. The freshmen-duo has been a staple at the No. 1 spot for the Knights all season long. They have gone 8-3 with two of those wins coming against ranked opponents. The only ranked duo they fell to was the No. 4 pair from Penn State. They were narrowly edged in that contest, losing in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-5).
Gabriel Decamps is the lone ranked singles player for the Knights as he is now ranked at No. 38 in the nation. Decamps has faced some tough opposition lately, facing three ranked opponents in his last six matches, one of which is the No. 2 singles player in the nation.
UP NEXT
UCF will face No. 26 Oklahoma State on Wednesday before taking on No. 13 Illinois on Friday. After Friday’s match, the Knights will have faced 11 ranked opponents over the course of 19 matches to this point in the season.
