Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team posted impressive scores after the first day of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular Saturday with a 36-hole score of 569(-7).
The Knights are currently in second place, just two strokes behind the leader Kansas State.
Bobby Bai and Kyler Tate dominated the first day each recording a round of 67. Bai is second overall after shooting 67 and 71 in the first two rounds for six-under par. Bai picked up a pair of eagles in the first round and six birdies in total.
Tate is just behind Bai in third place after shooting 72 and 67 in the first two rounds. Tate is five-under par with nine birdies.
Clement Charmasson is tied for ninth place overall shooting 143(-1) on the day. Charmasson eagled the tenth hole in the first round giving UCF their third eagle of the day.
Tommy Cao and Pedro Lencart Silva posted rounds of 150(+6) and 157(+13), respectively.
Competing individually, Colin Kresl posted a 149(+5), while Jalen Ledger recorded a two-round total of 153(+9).
As a team, UCF collected 113 pars, 29 birdies, and three eagles. The Knights were the best team on par four holes Saturday posting an average of 3.97 strokes on par fours and went three-under in the two rounds.
