ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) –The UCF men’s basketball team has enjoyed one of its best seasons in program history and on Sunday evening the Knights will start making their postseason plans when the NCAA Tournament Selection Show airs on CBS at 6 p.m.
The Knights will watch the show live at Burger U on the campus of UCF. The event is free to the public and fans are invited to join in on the festivities. The UCF players will be available to meet and greet after the announcement of the 68-team field.
UCF is 23-8 in 2018-19, recording the most regular season wins in the program’s Division I history. The Knights earned multiple victories over Top 25 opponents for the first time ever, winning at No. 6/8 Houston and topping No. 19/20 Cincinnati at home.
UCF was ranked 25th in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll in the penultimate ranking of the regular season, the latest in a season that the Knights have ever made it into the Top 25.
The men’s basketball team has played in four NCAA Tournaments since joining the Division I ranks in 1984-85, but all four times (1994, 1996, 2004, 2005) it has been an automatic berth by way of winning the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament.
On Sunday UCF will hope to hear its name called for the program’s first-ever at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.
