GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF softball team fell to No. 7 Florida in a midweek matchup at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium Wednesday evening, 5-0.
The Knights collected five hits and committed a pair of errors in the loss, while the Gators recorded eight hits.
Denali Schappacher led the Knights offensively and went 2-for-2 against Kelly Barnhill. Kyra Klarkowski flashed the leather on defense throwing out a runner at home from centerfield and robbing a three-run home run in the fifth.
UCF moves to 17-9 and Florida improves to 23-5.
Alea White tossed 2.1 innings allowing four hits and three earned runs to move to 11-6 on the season.
Things You Need To Know:
- Breanna Vasquez came in in the third inning and threw 3.2 innings giving up two hits and one earned run.
- Aubrey Johnson and Brooke Barlow each collected a hit for UCF. Barlow finished 1-for-1 with a walk.
- Karissa Ornelas ripped a single to center field starting in her ninth game of the season.
- Klarkowski’s double play is the Knights’ eighth double play of the season.
- Klarkowski has four assists on the season after her throw out at home from center.
- Schappacher reached base three times against the Gators with two singles and a hit-by-pitch.

UF: 1-0 | 1st | With the bases loaded, Adams singled up the middle for a RBI.
UF: 4-0 | 3rd | Florida tallied three singles and three walks to score three quick runs.
UF: 5-0 | 6th | Danielle Romanello homered to right center.
