ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – Freshman Elizabeth Moon of the UCF women’s golf team has earned American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
In her week of competition, Moon took second at the Florida Gators Invitational and was just one stroke off the leader, finishing with a 207 (-3). Moon shot a 67 (-3) and a 68 (-2) in her final two rounds to climb the leaderboard.
Moon tallied nine birdies and an eagle in Gainesville and helped the team to a seventh-place finish. Moon averaged 2.80 strokes per par three and finished three-under combined on all par three holes. Moon also finished even on all par fours and fives.
The rookie continues to climb in the individual rankings coming in at 73 according to Golfstat.com. The Forrest City, Ark., native is averaging under 72 strokes per round.
