ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – UCF Softball starting pitcher, Alea White, was named American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after her performance over the weekend at the USF Clearwater Tournament.
White made her 100th appearance as a Knight last week after posting a 4-0 record in four starts. The junior struck out 29 total in 26.0 innings pitched, including 11 against Chattanooga, just one shy of her career-high.
The Land O’ Lakes native recorded a 0.54 earned run average after recording two shutouts on the week. White also kept opponents to a .141 batting average during the week after throwing three complete games.
Overall, White is 11-5 on the season with 17 appearances and 12 complete games with four shutouts. White has a total of 102 career appearances putting her at fifth most in program history and 61 complete games, which is fourth most all-time.
In her career, White has earned Pitcher of the Week six times.
UCF is 17-8 on the season with four more games left until conference play begins.
