ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Behind the bat of Cassady Brewer, the UCF softball team capped off their homestand with a win over Boston College, 4-1 Wednesday evening.
Brewer was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with a home run and a walk to bring in three runs.
Alea White got the start and the win in the circle to improve her record to 8-5.
UCF improves to 13-7 on the season, while Boston College drops to 6-11. The Knights are now 11-5 at home heading into an eight-game road trip.
Things You Need To Know:
- After Tamesha Glover’s double in the first inning, the Knights have recorded at least one double in all but three games this season. They have 33 doubles on the year.
- With the win over BC, UCF has tallied five Power 6 wins this season.
- The Knights finished their 12-game homestand with a 9-3 record.
- Breanna Vasquez picked up the save after coming in to pitch for the final two outs of the game. It is the freshman’s first collegiate save.
- Brewer’s home run on Wednesday makes it back-to-back games with home runs for the Knights. They have three total on the season.
- All 10 of Brewer’s RBI have come at the UCF Softball Complex. This is Brewer’s third mutli-RBI game this season.
- White threw a near-complete game going 6.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts and allowing five hits.
- The Knights remain unbeaten against the Eagles with a 6-0 record in the all-time series.
Scoring:
UCF: 2-0 | 1st | Tamesha Glover doubled to right field and Brewer followed with a home run to left field.
UCF: 4-0 | 5th | With Denali Schappacher and Glover in scoring position, Brewer hit a bloop single to left field to score Schappacher. Glover was able to score off a pass ball by the catcher.
BC: 4-1 | 7th | Ergle homered to left field.

The Knights head to Clearwater, Fla., to play a five-game slate in the USF Clearwater Tournament.
