UCF Starts Strong at Southern Highlands

LAS VEGAS (UCFKnights.com) – In UCF’s most competitive regular season tournament, the UCF men’s golf team finished ahead of No. 7 Auburn, No. 30 Florida, No. 6 USC, and No. 35 UCLA Sunday afternoon in the opening round of the Southern Highlands in Las Vegas.

The Knights shot 297(+9) with junior Bobby Bai pacing UCF shooting par with a 72. Bai opened with a 35(-1) back nine with three birdies.

Clement Charmasson was just behind Bai with a 73(+1), while Kyler Tate rounded out the first 18 holes with a 75(+3).

Sophomore Tommy Cao collected a pair of birdies for a 77(+5) and Jalen Ledger wrapped up his first round shooting 80(+8).

The Knights trail No. 8 Texas by a slim two strokes and No. 44 TCU by three strokes.

As a team, UCF tallied 11 birdies and parred 55 holes. The Knights were the second-best team on par-three holes with an average score of three strokes per par three.
