Decamps and Rubio Ranked

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s tennis team saw a pair of their singles players ranked in Wednesday’s ITA/ORACLE rankings release.

Gabriel Decamps and Alan Rubio received new rankings after being ranked at the end of the fall season. Decamps originally sat at No. 31 while Rubio was at the No. 79 spot.

Decamps now sits at No. 17 in the nation. He has spent this season as the top man in the lineup for the Knights. He propelled himself into the top 20 by beating then No. 9 Oliver Crawford of Florida. It was a remarkable comeback effort from Decamps, as he dropped set one 6-2 before coming back and winning sets two and three both by a count of 6-3. With the new rankings out, Decamps remains the highest ranked American Athletic Conference tennis player.

Rubio checks in at No. 122 in the latest rankings. He has seen time at the second, third and fourth spots in the lineup this season. He sits at 1-2 in singles on the season and 1-1 in doubles play. His two losses in singles play came to ranked opponents.
