Pyysalo Signs With Pro Team In Germany

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – UCF men’s soccer alumnus, Matias Pyysalo, has signed with the Offenbacher Kickers in Offenbach am Main, Germany. The Kickers play in the fourth division in Germany as Pyysalo will join the team halfway through the season.

The former U20 national player has been active since January 2018 for the Finnish third division Vantaan Jalkapalloseura.  For the Kickers, Pyysalo was already in mid-January in the second half of the friendly against the Sportfreunde Siegen on the field.

The Kickers are 10-6-4 and are fourth in the table and are just four points out of third place.

Pyysalo graduated from UCF after the 2017 season. While at UCF, Pyysalo left his name in the record books. On the pitch, Pyysalo was ranked among the top five in the nation in 2017 in points per game with 2.07 and goals per game with 0.86. In the UCF men's soccer program, he ranks fifth in career goals (32), assists (18), and points (82). In 2017 and 2016 he led UCF in goals netting 12 each season and points with 29 in both seasons.

Pyysalo was also named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team in addition to being the 2016 and 2017 AAC Offensive Player of the Year, 2016 and 2017 First Team selection, 2017 Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and a three-time Player of the week winner.
