Knights Host Mustangs Sunday

ORLANDO ( –Less than two weeks after defeating SMU in Dallas, the UCF men’s basketball team (19-6, 9-4) is set to host the Mustangs (13-12, 5-8) on Sunday, aiming to complete the season sweep at noon on CBS Sports Network.

With five regular season games remaining, the Knights need to finish strong starting with Sunday’s matchup. UCF has the opportunity to build on its NCAA Tournament resume with games against SMU, USF, Houston, Cincinnati and Temple still to play.


The final stretch starts with an SMU team that is coming off of a home win over UConn on Thursday. Prior to that the Mustangs had lost five in a row, including dropping one to Temple immediately after falling to the Knights.


SMU leads the all-time series against UCF, 11-8, but the Knights have won the last two meetings. In addition to winning at SMU earlier this season, the last time the two teams met in Orlando, the Knights won 52-37, tying a program record for least points allowed.
