UCF Set for Wichita State on Wednesday

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s basketball team is headed to Kansas for its lone regular season contest against Wichita State on Wednesday.

 

The Knights (20-5, 9-3 The American) and the Shockers (11-13, 4-7 The American) will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

  • With just four games remaining in the regular season, UCF sits in second in the league standings.
  • The Knights recorded their third-consecutive 20-win campaign with their victory at SMU, marking the first time in the program’s Division I history with three straight 20-win seasons.

Scouting the Opponents

  • UCF and Wichita State will meet for just the second time on the hardwood, and the first time in Charles Kock Arena.
  • Wichita State is 11-13 overall this season with a 4-7 mark in The American and enters the contest having won four of its last six games.
  • Carla Bremaud leads the Shockers with 9.8 points per game and has made a team-high 38 three-pointers this season.
  • Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage averages 8.7 points per contest and a team-leading 5.6 rebounds per game. Seraphine Bastin leads Wichita State with 3.3 assists per game and 1.5 steals per contest.

 

Next up, UCF returns to CFE Arena for the first of its final two home contests. The Knights will host Temple in their annual Play 4 Kay game on Saturday at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.
