UCF Posts Strong First Day of Spring Season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s golf team started their spring season at the Gator Invitational Saturday with 36 holes. After the first two rounds, the Knights are currently in seventh place.

In the first round, Charmasson and Kyler Tate paced the Knights each with a 71(+1), while Bobby Bai was close behind with a 73(+3). Colin Kresl shot a 76(+6), while Tommy Cao finished the first 18 holes with a 77(+7).

Playing as an individual, Jalen Ledger shot a 73(+3).

The Knights picked up their performance in the second round after recording an eagle courtesy of Bai. Ledger also collected an eagle to put him in the top 20 as he finished two-under par and is tied for 15th overall.

Tate led the Knights again after 36 holes after shooting a 69(-1) in the second round of the day and is tied for 11th, while Bai was just behind him shooting a 70. Charmasson and Cao each shot a 72(+2) to wrap up their day.

UCF tallied up 20 birdies and 113 pars on the day and excelled on par fives shooting eight-under as a team.
