Knights Set to Host No. 4 UConn

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s basketball team returns to CFE Arena to host No. 4 UConn on Sunday afternoon.


The Knights (20-4, 9-2 The American) and the Huskies (22-2, 10-0 The American) will tip off at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN3.

  • Nyala Shuler is UCF’s leading rebounder with 7.4 boards per contest and has a team-high 16 blocks.
  • Kayla Thigpen has scored in double figures 12 times this season and is UCF’s second leading scorer on the season at 9.8 points per game.


No Place Like Home

  • The Knights are 9-0 in CFE Arena this season.
  • UCF is one of just 18 remaining Division I teams with undefeated home records.
  • The Knights have won their last 11 home contests, dating back to Feb. 26, 2018.
  • UCF’s last home loss was against then-No. 21 USF, 77-68, in overtime on Feb. 18, 2018.


Scouting the Opponents

  • UCF and UConn will meet for the 10th time on the hardwood, dating back to the 2013-14 campaign. The Huskies lead the series 9-0.
  • UConn is 22-2 overall this season with a 10-0 mark in The American and enters the contest on a four-game win streak.
  • Five Huskies average double figures. Napheesa Collier leads the way, averaging a double-double with 19.8 PPG and 10.1 RPG.
  • Crystal Dangerfield averages 5.9 assists per game and 1.6 steals per game.
