ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the fifth straight week, the UCF women’s basketball team continues to receive national recognition, earning votes in the AP Top 25 and the USA Today/WBCA Top 25.
The Knights (19-3, 8-1 The American) earned 10 points in the Feb. 4 AP ranking, putting them as the third team just outside the Top 25. UCF was also the third team receiving votes in the Feb. 5 coaches poll with 16 points.
UCF has been receiving votes in the USA Today/WBCA Top 25 since the preseason release on Nov. 1, and earned the first AP vote in school history on Jan. 7. The Knights earned a program-best 31 votes in the Jan. 22 coaches poll and collected 20 points in the AP Top 25 on Jan. 21.
The Knights have also matched their best ranking in the NCAA RPI, moving back into 14th in the Feb. 3 release.
Next up, UCF opens a two-game road swing at SMU on Saturday. The 3 p.m. ET contest will stream ESPN3. Following a Feb. 13 matchup at Tulane, the Knights return to CFE Arena to host No. 5 UConn on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
