UCF Adds Five for 2019

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Head Coach Scott Calabrese has announced five members of the 2019 signing class on Wednesday. The Knights will add Andrew Lizyness, Bernardo Brandao, Jose Aldaco Jr., Itzik Efraim, and Marco Ribeiro to their roster. Lizyness, Aldaco Jr., Efraim, and Ribeiro are eligible to partake in team activities starting in the spring of 2019, while Brandao will join the team in the fall.

“We are excited to welcome Marco, Andrew, Itzik, Bernardo, and Jose to UCF," said Calabrese. "These five young men will have a fantastic opportunity to become integrated into our team during a period of training and competition that truly allows for their development and progress. We can’t wait to get started with them.”

  • Netted 38 goals in three seasons and 45 matches
  • Tallied 26 assists between freshman and junior seasons
  • Earned All-Metro team honors back-to-back seasons
  • Led team to 2016 and 2018 District Champion titles
  • Won 2016 Florida Cup and 2017 State Cup Championship with club team Acys Spirit United
  • Holds a 4.7 weighted GPA
  • Attends Olympia High School in Windermere, Fla.
  • Intends to major in International Business

Bernardo Brandao

Prior to UCF:

  • Earned IMG Goalkeeper of the Year in both his sophomore and junior season
  • During his junior season, logged 515 minutes without conceding a goal.
  • Recorded 10 clean sheets in his third year at IMG
  • Attends IMG Academy under coach Drew Hoffman
  • Intends to major in Business

Jose Aldaco Jr.

Prior to UCF:

  • Scored 25 goals for Orlando City Pro Academy
  • Plays for Weston FC in Miami under Victor Pastora
  • In his third game for Weston FC, he netted a hat trick and was named PDL Player of the Week
  • Attends Auburndale High School
  • Intends to study Pre-Med

Itzik Efraim

Prior to UCF:

  • Played one season at Belmont University
  • Scored one goal while at Belmont and was nominated for Incoming Freshman of the Year
  • Was part of a Belmont defense that only allowed a program-tying record 22 goals
  • Logged 1443 minutes on the pitch for Belmont
  • Was on the Dean’s list for three semesters
  • Won the National High School Championship as a freshman in Israel
  • Three-year captain for his high school team
  • Attended Ort Yad Leibovich High School in Israel
  • Intends to major in computer science

Marco Ribeiro

Prior to UCF:

  • Played under head coach Scott Fisher at West Orange High School
  • Led the West Orange Warriors to a Florida State Championship in 2016
  • Named All-County his senior year
  • Held the highest GPA of any male athlete at West Orange in both his junior and senior season
  • Played for the ACYS 00 club team
  • Son of Joci and Liana Ribeiro
  • Intends to major political science and pre-law
