Knights Receiving Votes in Both Polls

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) –Following a 2-0 start to American Athletic Conference play and winning six straight games, the UCF men’s basketball team has climbed back up to receiving votes in both national polls this week. The Knights earned 14 votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll and six votes in the AP Top 25 Poll.

UCF is now 12-2 on the season and returns to action Sunday against East Carolina. The Knights and the Pirates, who just knocked off Cincinnati, tip-off at 4 p.m. with coverage on ESPNU and FM 96.9 The Game.

With 14 votes from the coaches, the Knights technically rank 30th in the USA Today Coaches Poll and with six votes rank 35th in the AP Poll.

In addition to making its way back onto a number of ballots of voters in the polls, UCF also returned to Andy Katz’s Top 36 Power Rankings for NCAA.com. The Knights are now 35th on the list after Saturday’s victory over UConn.

The computer systems are also favoring the Knights in the 2018-19 season. UCF is rated 32nd in both the most recent NCAA NET Rankings and the RPI. KenPom Rankings have the Knights at 35th, while both KPI and Sagarin Rating have UCF at 31st.

UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins and senior BJ Taylor will be on UCF Knight Talk Monday night at Burger U to talk about the recent victories over Temple and UConn.
