Cao Finishes Top-10 at Mainland Q-School

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – For the past four days, UCF men’s golf sophomore Tommy Cao competed in the Mainland China Qualifying School as a part of the PGA Tour Series in China. Cao completed four rounds of qualifying and finished tied for 10th out of 100 Chinese golfers.

Cao shot a 69(-1) in his final round to finish with a four-round total of 297 at the Foison Golf Club just northwest of Hong Kong, China.

With the qualification, Cao earned a full membership for all of 2019, but will remain as an amateur to continue to play for UCF.

Cao is a rising star with the men’s golf team after a strong performance his freshman year with rounds at both the NCAA Kissimmee Regional and the National Championship. Cao finished the season with seven tournament appearances for the Knights and 21 rounds with an average of 75.2 including a top-20 finish at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
