ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF head women's golf coach Emily Marron has announced the signing of Spain's Dimana Viudes to a national letter-of-intent.
Viudes has been ranked as high as No. 129 in the World Amateur golf rankings during 2018. She is a member of Spain's National Team, which won the 2017 Junior Girls World Championship. As an individual, Viudes finished fourth in that Junior World Championship event.
She was the runner-up at the 2018 International de France Trophee Esmond and finished fourth at the 2017 Spanish International Amateur Championship.
"I remember seeing Dimana for the first time at the World Championship in Canada and being blown away with her power," Marron said. "She can overpower golf courses with her size and length. That will serve her well transitioning to the college game. Dimana is a very seasoned player, who has played all over the world in elite events. She will come in as our highest-ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and will make an immediate impact for our program. We are very excited to add Dimana to our Knight family."
Viudes will be a freshman at UCF beginning in the fall of 2019.
