UCF Receiving Votes in National Polls

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s basketball team continues to receive national recognition, earning votes in the AP Top 25 and the USA Today/WBCA Top 25.

The Knights (16-2, 5-0 The American) appeared on six ballots in the Jan. 21 AP Top 25. UCF amassed 20 points, the fifth-most among teams receiving votes. The Knights were the third team receiving votes in the Jan. 22 coaches poll and are also 17th in the NCAA RPI.

UCF opened the season receiving votes in the USA Today/WBCA preseason poll and has remained among the teams receiving votes each week. The Knights earned the first AP Top 25 vote in program history in the Jan. 7 poll and have earned more points in both successive polls (Jan. 14, Jan. 21).

The Knights are off to their best start in the Division I era. At 5-0, UCF is off to its best conference start and are one of just two teams (UConn) unbeaten in league play.

The Black and Gold rank fifth nationally in scoring defense, limiting opponents to just 52.4 points per game.

Next up, UCF opens a two-game road swing at ECU on Wednesday. The 7 p.m. contest will stream on the American Digital Network.
