If the Knights (13-2, 3-0) are to remain unbeaten in conference play they’ll have to do something they were unable to last season, defeat Wichita State. The Shockers won both games against UCF in their first year in The American, winning 81-62 in Wichita and then coming out on top 75-71 in overtime in Orlando.

UCF, however, was without an injured Tacko Fall in both of those games. BJ Taylor was also just returning from injury in the first meeting, and the senior guard is now in full swing in his final season, leading the Knights and ranking fifth in The American with 17.3 points per game.

The Shockers (7-8, 0-3) lost much of their rotation from last year’s nationally ranked squad, as Wichita State welcomes UCF to Kansas under .500. Preseason Second Team All-Conference member Markis McDuffie leads the way, ranking second in the league with 19.3 points per game.

Wichita State has started league play 0-3, but has been in every game, falling 85-74 at Memphis, 85-81 in overtime to Temple, and 79-70 on the road at No. 15/17 Houston. The Shockers are 5-2 at home this season.
