ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) –The UCF men’s basketball team has now won seven in a row and remains unbeaten in American Athletic Conference play at 3-0, following Sunday’s home victory over ECU. On Monday, the Knights continued their momentum in the national polls, garnering more votes in both in USA Today Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25.
Totaling 17 votes in the AP Poll and 26 in the Coaches Poll, UCF ranks 31st and 29th overall in the polls, respectively. It marks the most votes the Knights have received in either poll since being ranked in the January 10th polls in 2011.
The Knights also made a big jump in Andy Katz’s Power 36 Rankings at NCAA.com, climbing to 25th from a ranking of 36 last week.
The computer systems are also favoring the Knights in the 2018-19 season. UCF is rated 33rd in both the most recent NCAA NET Rankings and the Sagarin Ratings. The KPI has UCF at 34th, the Knights are 36th in the RPI and 38th in KenPom Rankings.
UCF is now 13-2 on the season and returns to action Wednesday at Wichita State. The Knights and the Shockers tip-off at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT with coverage on CBS Sports Network and FM 96.9 The Game.
