ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – With final exams finished, the UCF women’s basketball team returns to action on the hardwood. The Knights begin a two-game road swing at Delaware on Sunday.
The Knights (6-1) will face the Blue Hens (3-5) for the first time in program history in the 5:30 p.m. matchup at Bob Carpenter Center.

Knight Notes
- UCF enters Sunday’s contest with a 7-1 record and are receiving votes in the USA Today/WBCA Top 25 for a program-best fourth straight week.
- Kay Kay Wright has scored in double figures in all seven games, has a 20-point and 30-point performance this season and is UCF’s leading scorer with 18.9 points per game.
- The Orlando native is five assists shy of becoming the ninth Knight in program history with 300 career assists and leads UCF with 27 assists this season.
- UCF’s leading rebounder is Nyala Shuler with 8.3 boards per contest. She moved into fifth all-time in career rebounds, collecting her 678th against Chattanooga.
- Kayla Thigpen leads UCF in steals with 14 on the campaign.
All-Around Achievements
- The Knights are averaging 71.3 points per game this season and have reached the 70-point mark five times in seven outings.
- UCF is also limiting its opponents to 53.0 points per game and have held six opponents under the 60-point mark this season.
- The Knights have the sixth-best three-point field goal percentage (42.5 percent) in the country.
- UCF’s scoring defense is 21st in the nation and is 26th nationally in turnover margin. The Black and Gold have forced their last three opponents into 20+ turnovers each.
Scouting the Blue Hens
- Delaware enters Sunday's matchup with a 3-5 overall record. The Blue Hens will play their first home contest of the 2018-19 campaign after opening the season with eight matches on the road.
- The programs will meet for the first time on the hardwood.
- Samone DeFreese and Abby Gonzales lead the Blue Hens with matching 10.4 points per game. Jasmine Dickey pulls down 9.8 rebounds per contest. DeFreese has a team-high 13 steals and Paris McBride has 29 assists.
