The Knights (6-2) are looking to rebound after a tough road loss at Missouri last Sunday. UCF had its five-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Tigers after a Missouri buzzer-beater sent the game into overtime.
Another group of Tigers (4-4) now challenge the Knights, as Grambling State comes to CFE Arena for the first time. The Knights and Tigers have faced off once before, a 1992 contest that Grambling won by a score of 85-81.
The Tigers are coming off of an 81-57 win over Centenary after losing back-to-back games to IUPUI and LSU.
UCF will look for Aubrey Dawkins to continue his hot shooting from Columbia. The guard put up a season high 22 points on 6-of-9 from the floor and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc at Missouri. Dawkins is tied with B.J. Taylor for the team lead with 16.1 points per game.
NOTES TO KNOW
- A win would even the all-time series with Grambling State at 1-1
- It would also make UCF 7-2 to start the year for the second time in the last three seasons
- Aubrey Dawkins has scored in double figures in each of his first eight games as a Knight, the first player to do so in UCF’s Division I era.
- Tacko Fall leads The American with a 79.2 field goal percentage and would lead the nation if he took enough shot attempts to qualify.
- Fall also leads the league and ranks seventh in the nation with 3.1 blocked shots per game.
- He needs just eight more blocked shots to become UCF’s all-time leader in the category, passing current record holder Keith Clanton (227).
- Terrell Allen ranks third in the nation with a 5.57 assist-to-turnover ratio.
