UCFiesta Fix: Dec. 28

As he gears up for his final game in a black and gold uniform, it’s only fitting that senior tight end Michael Colubiale would feel a little nostalgic about returning to the site of his first postseason experience — UCF’s memorable 2014 Fiesta Bowl win over Baylor.

“We were obviously big underdogs that game going in, and putting our name on the map is really what we did,” Colubiale said. “It was a statement win for our program.”

The sixth-year senior is the only Knight — player or coach — who has been a part of all three of UCF’s New Year’s Six bowl berths.

Colubiale along with punter Mac Loudermilk and snapper Caleb Perez discussed the legacy of the Knights’ senior class in the Dec. 28 edition of the UCFiesta Fix.

“When I leave this university, I want to leave it in a better place,” Perez said. “Going from 0-12 to doing what we’ve done in the past two years … is not a fluke. It took a lot of hard work and dedication.”
