ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – USA Today announced its 2018 Freshman All-America Team this week and UCF’s Cole Schneider was among this season’s honorees. Schneider was one of just five freshman offensive lineman to receive the accolades.
Schneider becomes UCF’s 15th Freshman All-American in program history and the first since Chavis Dickey was named Freshman All-America by CollegeFootballNews.com in 2014. Schneider is the first Knight to receive Freshman All-America honors from USA Today.
Playing in all 12 games of 2018, Schneider started eight contests at right guard and three at left guard en route to First Team All-Conference honors from The American.
Schneider helped lead the Knights to a new program record for rushing yards in a season with 3,318 during the first 12 games of 2018. His offensive line unit also gave up just 14 sacks on the year.
