PITTSBURGH, Pa. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s basketball team will close out a two-game road swing on Wednesday at Duquesne.
The Knights (7-1) will face the Dukes (4-3) for the first time in program history in the 7 p.m. matchup at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

Knight Notes
- UCF brings a four-game win streak into Wednesday’s contest.
- The Knights are off to their best start since the 2013-14 campaign with a 7-1 record and are receiving votes in the USA Today/WBCA Top 25 for a program-best fourth straight week.
- Kay Kay Wright has scored in double figures in all eight games, has two 20-point and a 30-point performance this season and is UCF’s leading scorer with 19.5 points per game.
- The Orlando native is one shy of becoming the ninth Knight in program history with 300 career assists and leads UCF with 31 assists this season.
- UCF’s leading rebounder is Nyala Shuler with 7.4 boards per contest. She moved into fifth all-time in career rebounds, collecting her 679th at Delaware.
- Four Knights have double-figure steals this season, led by Kayla Thigpen’s 14.
Road Warriors
- The Knights are set to play their sixth contest away from home this season with a 4-1 road record.
- UCF is averaging 70.8 points per game in road contests, while limiting its opponents to 58.0 points per contest.
- The Knights average 11.4 steals per game and 3.4 blocks per game on the road and hold a 7.0 advantage on the boards.
- Kay Kay Wright averages 21.4 points per game away from home, while Sydnee McDonald averages 12.8 points per contest.
Scouting the Dukes
- Duquesne enters the game with a 4-3 overall record.
- The programs will meet for the first time on the hardwood. However, the two programs have a tie in UCF head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. Coach “ABE” earned her Master’s in education at Duquesne in 1992.
- Julijana Vojinovic and Kadri-Anne Lass lead the Dukes with 9.4 and 9.3 points per game, respectively. Page Cannon is Duquesne’s leading rebounder with 5.9 boards per contest.
- Libby Bazelak and Chassidy Omogrosso each have a team-leading 18 assists on the season, while Bazelak leads Duquesne with 13 steals.
