ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF men’s tennis team is set for its final collegiate tournament of the fall this weekend at the Longhorn Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas. Seven Knights will hit the courts against from 16 other institutions over the weekend.
Play is set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Texas Tennis Center, but inclement weather might shift the action indoors to the Weller Tennis Center.
A trio of Knights play in the singles Flight A. Gabriel DeCamps will go up against Tyler Schick from Tulane. Trey Hilderbrand will meet Constantin Frantzen from Baylor in the opening round of the singles flight A. Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi will battle Chih Chi Huang from Texas.
In the singles Flight B, Alan Rubio will start as the No. 1 seed will play Brett Meyers of Marquette. Manoel Alencar will see Artem Kapshuk from Texas Tech in the first round. Mikhail Sokolovskiy will play Dane Esses of Tulane. Vasyl Kiselyov will represent the Knights against Mohamed Abdel-Aziz from Rice.
DeCamps and Hilderbrand will pair up in the doubles Flight A against Esses and Hamish Stewart of Tulane. Alencar and Rubio will be the No. 1 seed against LSU’s Joey Thomas and Nick Watson in the doubles Flight B, while Kiselyov and Sokolovskiy will face Liberty’s Nicaise Muamba and Chase Burton.
