UCF Wraps Up First Round Out West

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) – In their first go around at the Saint Mary’s Invitational, the No. 49 UCF men’s golf team wrapped up their first round with a team score of 296(+12). The Knights end day one in 11th place and ahead of No. 36 Nevada, Fresno State, UNCW, San Diego State, Toledo, Washington State, and Santa Clara.

Bobby Bai and Kyler Tate led the way for UCF each shooting 72(+1) and tied for 27th. After shooting three-over on the back nine, Tate gained momentum on the front nine picking up four birdies and finished two-under par.

Pedro Lencart Silva recorded an eagle on 18 and ended his day with a 75(+4), while Jalen Ledger finished his first round with a 77(+6).

Clement Charmasson was just behind Ledger with a 78(+7) for his first 18 holes of the tournament.

As a team, the Knights dominated par five holes and finished five-under on the day, while converting 11 birdies.
