ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – As the UCF football team improved to 8-0 on the year, nine former Knights hit the field for Week 9 of the NFL season, including a pair of scoring performances by Latavius Murray and Tre’Quan Smith.

Dealing the Los Angeles Rams, the last remaining unbeaten team in the league, their first loss of the year, Smith hauled in a pair of passes for 23 yards as the Saints picked up a 45-35 win. Smith grabbed his third touchdown of the season on a four-yard strike from Drew Brees.

Days after earning the Vikings' Salute to Service Award, Murray continued his successful season as the Vikings routed the Detroit Lions 24-9. The sixth-year man totaled 31 yards and one score on 10 carries on Sunday. Murray has found the end zone five times over the last four games.
