ORLANDO, Fla (UCFKnights.com) – After extending its winning streak to 19 matches, the UCF volleyball team made its third straight appearance in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches Poll. The Knights climbed up one spot in the rankings to No. 22.
UCF extended its winning streak to 19 matches with a pair of wins on the road at UConn and Temple. The Knights now hold the fifth longest active unbeaten streak in the nation.
Wit the two victories, the Knights held steady at No. 11 in the NCAA RPI rankings.
Earlier on Monday, libero Jordan Pingel was named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year after notching 6.71 digs per set.
The Knights return home to The Venue for a pair of colossal matches in The American this weekend. UCF will battle Cincinnati on Friday night at 7 p.m. in a contest that has major implications toward the conference championship. The Black and Gold will close out their penultimate weekend at home on Sunday against ECU at 1 p.m.
