UCF No. 9 In Final Regular Season Rankings

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – United Soccer Coaches (USC) announced its final regular season rankings placing UCF at No. 9.

The Knights have spent the last three weeks in the top 10 and five total weeks in the top 20 this season. 

UCF is also ranked eight by College Soccer News and 14 by Top Drawer Soccer.

UCF men’s soccer team has earned a 14th seed and a first round bye into the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament. This is the Knights first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2011.

UCF will host the winner of Washington and Lipscomb on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex. This will be the first time UCF has hosted a Division I men’s soccer NCAA match since 2010.

The Black and Gold are having one of the best seasons in program history holding a 13-2-3 record heading into the NCAA Tournament.

UCF is also on a 10-match unbeaten streak going 8-0-2 in their last 10 matches, including a 6-0-2 record at home in that span.

The Black and Gold boast one of the best offenses in all of Division I. For 12 straight weeks of play, the Knights have been ranked top 10 in the nation in almost every offensive category including total goals, total points, scoring offense, points per game, assists per game, goals per game, and have been the top team in shots per game and shots on goal per game.

Cal Jennings has been grabbing national attention as he sits second in the country in goals per game (1.18), points per game (2.65), shots on goal per game (2.94), total goals and points. Jennings is third in the nation in game-winning goals (six), and first in Division I in shots per game (5.53). 

UP NEXT
The Knights are headed to the NCAA Tournament after receiving a first round bye as the 14th seed. They will host the winner of Washington/Lipscomb on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
