TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) –
For the fifth time in the six-year tenure of the American Athletic Conference, the UCF women’s soccer team will be playing in the semifinal of the league tournament.

The third-seeded Knights (10-6-1) will face second-seeded Memphis (15-3) at 4:30 p.m. at Corbett Stadium.

UCF advanced to the semifinal with a 3-0 victory over Temple on Oct. 31. One day after being named to The American’s All-Rookie team, Kristen Scott made her presence known in her first American tournament match, bagging a brace and registering the assist on the third Black and Gold goal.

Stefanie Sanders netted her 13th goal of the season, moving her within one marker of joining the UCF single season Top 10. Vera Varis recorded her fifth clean sheet of the season, making three saves in the win.

The Knights took the lead in the all-time series against the Tigers, 10-9-1, after a 2-0 road victory over then-No. 15/18 Memphis.

Memphis will play its first contest after earning a first round by as the second seed. On Tuesday, Olivia Gauthier was named The American Midfielder of the Year. Gauthier, Serena Dolan, Marie Levasseur and Clarissa Larisey were all named to The American First Team, with Larisey being a unanimous selection.

Catherine Levasseur and Elizabeth Moberg were second team honorees, and Tanya Boychuk was an all-rookie selection. Memphis posted a 7-2 mark during regular season league play, only dropping decisions to the Knights and top-seeded USF.
