ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The weight room inside the UCF Football operations building is getting an overhaul, thanks to a generous gift commitment of the Gault and Kohn families.
A $520,000 gift will be used to transform the weight room into the Gault-Kohn Sports Performance Center.
“With Kevin (Gault) being a former Division I student-athlete and my desire to see UCF compete at the highest level, we both agreed this facility was a critical step and a much-needed update for our current and future student-athletes,” Robert Kohn said. “We didn’t want to just sit on the sidelines when we knew we could make an impact on the lives of these deserving students and our Hometown Team.”
The Gault-Kohn Sports Performance Center’s primary function will be the overall strength and conditioning development of the football program, while many other UCF student-athletes will also utilize the facility.
“We’re so thankful to the Gault and Kohn families for this generous gift commitment,” UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White said. “This facility will be critical to the continued physical development of our student-athletes and will be an important asset for our coaches to recruit future Knights.”
The Gault-Kohn Sports Performance Center project is slated for completion by Summer 2019. Naming of the facility is pending UCF Foundation and Board of Trustees approval.
