Todd's Thoughts - UCF at UConn

UCF Head Coach Todd Dagenais
Overall, I thought it was a pretty solid match from beginning to end for us. We just had two serving runs that they got on that made that second set close. But I thought we were able to get the side-out in both of those runs. We were really composed when that match got tight at the end of set two. I thought we were able to spread the ball from pin-to-pin. I would have liked to get the ball up the middle a little bit more.

We passed extremely well. It was one of the best passing nights we have had in a while. But defensively I thought they were outstanding. Blocking wise, averaging four blocks a set is pretty good for anybody, and the defense was on point. I really thought defensively we gave ourselves a great chance to be very offensive which we converted.

So, all in all, top to bottom, I thought it was a great effort on the road by us. Certainly, no let done from the team at all. To me, they can feel what is brewing, they have the drive to try and see it through. To come in and be the team that is progressively been getting better and better, it was a really nice win for us tonight. I thought McKenna, 17 kills, really was the hammer that we need and Jordan really anchored the defense.
