ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – While the UCF football team improved to 5-0 this past weekend, a number of former Knights hit the field for Week 5 of the NFL season, including Tre’Quan Smith, who was part of a special moment in New Orleans.
Not lost in the Saints’ win over the Redskins Monday night was Drew Brees breaking Peyton Manning’s record for most passing yards in NFL history. He set the record in the second quarter on a 62-yard touchdown pass to Smith.
After reaching the end zone for the first time in his NFL career, Smith scored again in the third quarter when Brees found him for a 35-yard touchdown to give New Orleans a 33-13 lead over Washington. Smith finished with three catches for 111 yards in the victory.

Charley Hughlett, usually going unnoticed as the long snapper for the Browns, added some flare to his stat line this week, recording two tackles and forcing a fumble. He also snapped the ball on the Browns’ game-winning field goal against the Ravens.
