VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s golf team is in a promising position following the first round of the Princess Anne Invitational. The Knights wrap up the first round tied for first with 284(+5).

Elizabeth Moon paces the Knights after shooting a 67(-3) including six birdies. The freshman is also second overall and just two strokes behind the leader.

Ana Laura Collado shot even on the day with a 70 and five birdies as she caps off the first round tied for sixth.

Maria Balcazar finished with a 73(+3) on the day, while Nicolette Donovan recorded a 74 with a pair fo birdies.

Alyssa Lamoureux finished five-over to register a 75, while Anna Hack finished with a 79 as she competes individually.

UCF finished with 18 birdies, the second most after the first day. The Black and Gold dominated par fours today finishing three-under after averaging 4.85 strokes per par five as a team.

Moon has done the best in the field on par fours averaging 3.63 strokes per par four, while Balcazar and Collado are leading all players on par fives. Balcazar is two-under and Collado is one-under as they head into day two.

UCF is ahead of 10 other teams including USF, Cincinnati, Maryland, and Sacramento State.

The Knights tee off in the morning on Saturday for the second round.
