The Eagan, Minn., native set a career high in kills twice on the weekend. First, she posted the first 20-kill, 20-dig performance for UCF since 2011 with 27 kills and 20 digs against Houston in five sets. She followed that performance up with a 28-kill outing against SMU on Sunday over four sets.
Melville is hitting .257 on the year with 4.44 kills per set, which ranks 15th in the country and second in the American Athletic Conference. The freshman is on pace to crack the single-season top-10 for kills and kills per set.
She was named The American Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight time on Monday.
The Knights will look to extend their 17-match unbeaten streak this weekend with trips to UConn on Thursday and Temple on Saturday.
