Knights to Host Most Unique Season Opener

ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) –There will be plenty going on during UCF Homecoming week, which starts Monday, Nov. 5 with Comedy Knights at CFE Arena. The ensuing evening, the Knight men’s basketball team will host Rider in the most unique season-opener in college basketball.

With Joel McHale headlining Comedy Knight on Monday and A$AP Ferg headlining Thursday’s Concert Knight, the main stage will stay in place at CFE Arena for UCF’s basketball game Tuesday night.

Fans will want to arrive early to take in the entire pre-game show with a one-of-a kind player introduction and a hype video for the start of the 2018-19 season. There will be more smoke, more screens and louder music to get things started.

Because of the staging, there will be limited lower bowl student section seating, so students are encouraged to arrive early. The student sections will be located in Section 102-103 and 202-203.

The Knights enjoyed an 86-69 victory over Flagler in exhibition play, as Tacko Fall led UCF with 17 points on 8-of-8 shooting from the floor. UCF, which was picked to win The American for the first time ever, looks to continue that momentum into the regular season.

Tipoff for the opener against Rider, last season’s regular season champion in the MAAC and conference preseason favorite for 2018-19, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at CFE Arena with coverage on ESPN3 and FM 96.9/AM 740 The Game.
