ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – A week after breaking into the American Volleyball Coaches Top-25 Poll for the first time in program history last weekend, the UCF volleyball team jumped two spots to No. 23 in this week’s release.
The Black and Gold appeared at No. 11 in the NCAA RPI rankings.
The Knights extended their winning streak to 17 matches over the weekend with a pair of wins over Houston and SMU. UCF now holds the fifth longest active streak in the nation.
The two wins gave the Black and Gold its 20th victory of the year. It marks the third straight season and sixth in the Todd Dagenais era that the Knights have crossed the 20-win plateau.
Freshman McKenna Melville was tabbed as the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. It was the fourth consecutive week the Knights had a player receive a weekly honor from the league.
The Knights hit the road on short rest this week for a pair of contests in The American. UCF will face UConn on Thursday night and Temple on Saturday afternoon.
