UCF Has Strong Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF rowing team is set to return to action with a northern trip to the Princeton Chase.

The Knights began the day with the Varsity Eight’s three-race on Lake Carnegie.

The UCF Varsity Eight, consisting of Nicole Mayer, Grace Lindberg, Julie Poulsen, Lara Maule, Luci Derrick, Edvina Nesukaityte, Marija Medelinskaite, Abbie Pritchard and Shannon Perry, finished 10th overall with a time of 15:30.030.

The Second Varsity Eight, consisting of Elena Esteban, Alyssa Ramos, Maria Yim, Michaela Gundrum, Magdalena Pasternak, Rusne Dziugyte, Mia Cleary, Lauryn Bench and Chiara Ciullo, finished in 16:05.452 for 22nd overall.

The Third Varsity Eight, consisting of Jillian Jernas, Paula Parks, Georgia Coyne, Leslie Lajoie, Sydney Hays, Jessica Matteson, Aly Derksen, Jacinta Kendall and Amy Licht, crossed the line in 16:29.950 for 31st overall in the 46-team field.

The Black and Gold raced five boats in the Varsity Four event.

UCF’s “A” boat, consisting of Mayer, Lindberg, Poulsen, Pritchard and Perry, finished 10th overall with a time of 17:48.962. The “B” boat, consisting of Carlee Hoschouer, Maule, Derrick, Nesukaityte and Medelinskaite, took 12th with a time of 17:51.172.

The Black and Gold’s “C” boat, consisting of Esteban, Parks, Pasternak, Gundrum and Cleary, finished 23rd overall with a time of 18:18.298. The “E” boat, consisting of Taylor Jenko, Lajoie, Yim, Hays and Derksen, finished 25th overall with a time of 18:21.518. UCF’s “D” boat, consisting of Jernas, Dziugyte, Coyne, Bench and Ciullo, finished 33rd with a time of 18:51.122.
