ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The UCF women’s tennis team will look for a bounce back weekend at the Finemark FGCU Collegiate Open in Bonita Springs, Fla.
The field includes Princeton, USF, and Purdue while the Eagle men will host Illinois, Louisville, Memphis, Arkansas, and Kentucky.
In a different tournament setup than most fall events, the Knights will compete as a team, rather than as individuals. UCF will also set its War On I-4 rivalry aside for the weekend, as the Knights will team up with players from USF.
Play opens on Friday at 12:30 p.m. for the Black and Gold against Princeton. Saturday’s match will put the Knights and Bulls against Purdue at 12:30 p.m.. The final match of the weekend for the combined squad will be against FGCU on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
UCF is looking to rebound after a difficult weekend at the 2018 ITA Southeast Regional at Georgia Tech. Rebeka Stolmar and Natalia Serrano were the lone Knights to make it to the round of 16 in singles play and the second round as a doubles pairing.
